Today is New Years Eve and I don't have a New Year's Resolution to make myself better because I think that they're pretty much pointless. All these people make resolutions to make themselves better but they never keep them. I just see it as pointless. I think that's one of the problems with America. We make empty promises and say things that we don't mean. You know the Tsunami that hit Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Thailand, and all those other Indian Ocean countries? The world's super power(haha not for very long I don't think.) only pledged $15 million dollars to the relief effort in the beginning! How pathetic is that??? It was only until the UN called Good Ol' George and asked him to pledge more so the US wouldn't look so stingy. That's when we put up the $35 million. But we had to be shamed into doing it. Not only that, but if you watched what George Bush said about the devastating natural disaster, he didn't seem like he cared. He was talking about it like he talks about the war in Iraq. He seemed as if he didn't even care that over 100,000 people died. It was just one more thing that the US had to give money to that we couldn't spend on "hunting down terrorists." Not only that, but George Bush was THE LAST world leader to speak on the crisis and he made the whole nation look bad. Plus, he's still in Crawford! How many vacations can one president take, I mean it's getting pretty ridiculous... He's not Ronald Reagan so he should stop trying! At least other US organizations such as UNICEF and Doctors without Borders are over there helping those poor people sort through all the wreckage.
I'm not bitter though am I? And thus ends my political rant for a bit.
I have no plans for today except napping which sounds really good. And I feel really dumb because I haven't heard from anyone except Nathan over the Christmas break... Thus meaning I have no plans for tonight, but oh well. It's all good I planned to catch up on reading and sleeping anyway.
